In lieu of Trinidad Carnival, I am taking my talents to Hong Kong, Macau, Koh Samui and Bangkok!

I am sitting in my office listening to 2012 Soca music and it just hit me that I am really sitting out Trini Carnival this year. After going 5 consecutive years, I am skipping this year. I am highly addicted to Carnival!!!!! Trinidad Carnival is usually one of the highlights of my year. However, after celebrating my 30th birthday on Carnival Tuesday 2011, I decided that I would sit out Trinidad Carnival 2012. To be honest, I had indescribable fun last year and I KNEW there was no way this year could possibly top it or even compare. So with that in mind, I decided to sit out 2012. Nobody believed me! As a matter of fact, I have friends who think I am going to show up at the last minute. A few have even sent me costumes that are for sale in an attempt to convince to me change my mind.

Anyhoo, in lieu of going to Trinidad Carnival this year, I am taking my talents to Hong Kong, Macau, Koh Samui and Bangkok! I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!! It is my yearly goal to experience at least 2 new places every year. I LOVE TO TRAVEL! Love! Love! Love to travel. So, this year I am going to experience 4 new places in February. This trip is now my substitute trip instead of Trini. What makes it even better is that this trip is costing me less than it does to go to Trinidad for Carnival. Whoop Whoop!

I bought my ticket yesterday and will jet set to Asia in less than 3 weeks. If you have traveled to any of the places on my itinerary, I would love suggestions on things I must do while there. Thankies!

Hong Kong is great. Have a massage at the Peninsula and have afternoon tea there before you stroll the luxury shops in the lobby. Check out the pool at the Mira Hotel, which is where I have stayed the past 2 times I went. Get a custom made suit while you are there. My cousin had one made and it fit her so exactly that when she conceived and was only one or two months pregnant, she could tell by the fit of the suit that something was off. Take the ferry at night and see the sights. Tons to do there. Ask the local bellman where he eats and not just the concierge. Amazing food. Have not done Macau or Bangkok yet but will do so if I go to China in June.
